My Fall Bucket List – Layering up with Fur Coats, Uber-Chic High Boots, Lace-up Heels, Sexy Halloween Costume, Hot Cocoa, Bonfires, Stomp on Crunchy Leaves and of course Cuddling <3
After a season of thong sandals, strapped crop tops and casual flared palazzos, it’s time for a complete wardrobe makeover. Come, Let’s play Dress Up! Before I bury myself into those blanket scarves and fox fur coats for the next several months, I wanted my wardrobe to slowly transition into the fall look.
First FALL OUTFIT : The Colorblocking Trend
Being fortunate enough to live in the heart of the fashion district in New York City which turns into a glamorous runway for Beaux Mondes especially during the months of NYFW, I got inspired to add a bit of fall glamour to my wardrobe and get clicked outside of one the prime venues of NYFW – Skylight at Moynihan Station
As I spotted this dress at Zara with strategically placed hues, contrasting, yet complementary, bold and bright colors paired together, I scooped it up 😉
Get it Here – Zara Colorblock Dress
Be it the beginning of Spring or Fall, colorblocks become designers’ favorite. Ever wondered why? This helps the wardrobe take a smoother transition from bright florals to muted solids.
With the change in weather and grayer skies, a sudden shift to the neutral colors can be depressing to the moods.
Location – Historic James A. Farley Post Office Building
Fun Fact – While researching on how the designers pick the color combinations for colorblockers, I stepped on this fact: the rule of two-thirds. Make an equilateral triangle on the color wheel; pick two of the three colors that the triangle touches. These colors will almost always harmonize together beautifully.
I was drooling over these chic sunnies when I saw them at the store and knew instantly they will go perfectly with my dress. Combined my look with a color neutral beige hat preventing it to steal the thunder of my eyewear 😀 My Beige Fedora Be a Runway Beauty wearing this fall’s most buzzed-about lipstick from MAC. Get this boldest lip color with velvet-matt finish for an audacious look!
What better way to add Glitz to the look than carry a glinting rose gold tote. After all, “Behind every successful women is a fabulous handbag” Love my Ted Baker London Minipel Bag
Street Style Chic Look – Fun with Fringes
Enough of being dressy, lets hop into some Street Style clothes. Every store I pass by all the racks talk about is suede. Suede is the new black! Guess what trend came back from 70’s, FRINGES! Designers are playing with the fringes so well that you can’t resist but buy. Be it a dress or a purse or a boot, I find them super cute and playful. My first fringe purchase – the suede skirt with fringe details.
My Fringe Skirt Though the skirt originally comes with the same color suede top but I find this combination bit boring and hence decided to give a mustard twist to it!
You can match the blue suede with a contrasting Burgundy or olive green depending on the place and occasion. Too much of contrast kills the look so I coordinated my skirt with the same color wool topper.
Keep your Heads, Heels and Standards High – COCO CHANEL
From catwalk to sidewalk heeled wedges can give the kind of bold confidence that is essential to great style. My Source of Confidence
Lastly, complete your look by giving a classic twirl to your fringes for some HEAD-TURNING style 😉
I have done enough STYLE STALKING for the fall fashion, its time to pack some bags for my much awaited trip to Colorado. Stay tuned for more of my winter-ready looks!
